The Harsh Demands gallery is the first one on the second floor. It features a short discussion on the positive and negative effects of hydro-electric power, the construction of dams, and the many effects they have had on the river and local wildlife. We recommend a visit to the Bonneville Dam Visitor Centers for more information. One is located at the second powerhouse, seven miles west of the museum on State Route 14. The second is located at Bonneville, OR, directly across the river from the second powerhouse on Highway 84. The history of hydro-electric power is covered in more detail and fish viewing is a must!
